Comment:

This mix was originally submitted to Zen Running Order on April 20, 2010. The original notes and comments are as follows...

Darth Pazuzu (04-20-2010):
Quite a few classical numbers this time around...

(Samuel Barber) "Adagio For Strings" - You may not know this one by name, but if you've seen either David Lynch's "The Elephant Man" (1980) or Oliver Stone's "Platoon" (1986), then trust me, you'll definitely know it! Also a big hit at funerals and memorial services...

"Als Jakob Erwachte (The Dream Of Jacob)" - And if you've seen Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining" (1980), you'll definitely recognize this as the "Room 237" theme! Also more recently used in David Lynch's "Inland Empire" (2006), from whose soundtrack CD this is taken.

DJ Karen Adams (04-21-2010):
Burdon & War is one of my faves!

doowad (04-21-2010):
Man, that disk 2 does it for me, love the classical flourishes, Ry Cooder, the Meters, Pete, Vince.

Mr. Mirage (04-22-2010):
You had me at the opener. RHPS tends to be dismissed as insane, and the fans thereof, but the musical is remarkably strong, as is the music itself. Excellent mix.
