#248 - I Went Outside To Get A Life, But Everything Was Closed Up Tight
Comment:
This mix was originally posted to Zen Running Order on May 27, 2010. The original notes and/or comments are as follows...Darth Pazuzu (05-27-2010):
Well, I've gotta say right off the bat that the end sequence of 14-20 on DISC #2 is probably one of the most righteous sustained blasts of high-energy rock 'n' roll that I've ever had conclude one of my mixes - a source of no small pride, to be sure! As for the rest of the mix...well, it's a little bit on the RANDOM side, but I still think it holds together reasonably well.
"Hibernation" - An instrumental Rick Wakeman adaptation from the soundtrack of Ken Russell's "Lisztomania" (1975), heralding the unholy resurrection of "Adolph FrankenWagner"!!
"Mr. Eddy's Theme (1 & 2)" - "Don't...you...EVER...fucking...tailgate!! EVER!!! Do you have any idea how many car lengths it takes to stop a car?! SIX FUCKIN' CAR LENGTHS! That's a hundred and six fuckin' feet, mister! If I had to stop suddenly, you woulda hit me! I want you to get a fuckin' driver's manual, and I want you to STUDY that motherfucker! And I want you to OBEY THE GODDAMN RULES! Fifty-fuckin' thousand people were killed on the highway last year 'cause of fuckin' assholes LIKE YOU!! Tell me you're gonna get a manual!" (Robert Loggia as Mr. Eddy - alias Dick Laurent - in David Lynch's "Lost Highway," from 1997. Not on the tracks, mind you, but that's the scene in which Barry Adamson's theme appears!)

Not one of my favorites of yours, but I do like the Zombies and Annie, as always.
