Comment:

This mix was originally submitted to Zen Running Order on June 13, 2010. The original notes and/or comments are as follows...

Darth Pazuzu (06-13-2010):
"Voodoo Chile" - Suffice to say that this is not the shorter "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" which closes "Electric Ladyland" (and which you hear on classic rock stations ad infinitum), but the similarly-titled 15-minute titanic blues epic in which Hendrix and the Experience are accompanied by Steve Winwood on organ. I had already used the "(Slight Return)" version in a much earlier mix on AOTM, but not this one...until NOW! :)

"Vicinity Of Obscenity" - "Banana banana banana terracotta banana terracotta terracotta pie! / Banana banana banana terracotta banana terracotta terracotta pie!" LOL!!

"Etude (Recuerdos De La Alhambra)" - I remember a long time ago, I purchased a Mike Oldfield best-of compilation, because I wanted to use the famous opening theme from "Tubular Bells" (made famous as the theme from "The Exorcist" in 1973) in one of my earlier mixes (again on AOTM). However, I ended up getting quite a bit of mileage out of that compilation, because there were a lot of other Oldfield tracks that I really got into and used on subsequent mixes. However, it's been a while since I've dipped into the Oldfield well, so I thought it was about time I returned!

"Endangered Species" - A brutal U.K. Subs cover from Demolition 23, a short-lived outfit featuring former Hanoi Rocks members.

Mr. Mirage (06-14-2010):
Well, lots o' goodies here. Good to see Kix somewhere other than the side of a box of cereal.

doowad (06-14-2010):
I sing that Stones song to myself whenever I'm doing just that...

strange loop (06-15-2010):
That Floyd track is one of my favorites and hurray for SOAD and Voivod!
