This mix was originally submitted to Zen Running Order on August 30, 2010. The original notes and/or comments are as follows...

Darth Pazuzu (08-30-2010):
Another all-new lineup! Hope you like it... :)

"Torte In Faccia" - A jaunty, amusing little instrumental ditty from Italian soundtrack progsters Goblin. This was featured in the European version of George A. Romero's "Dawn Of The Dead" (1978), during the pie-fight sequence between the zombies and the bikers in the mall!

"Dragon Lady" - I can always rely on old-school punk rock outfits to provide filler in case I've got a pesky gap longer than two minutes in a CD's running time, such is their tendency to keep things short and sweet!

"Slow Dancer" - Probably one of the more Zeppelin-esque tracks on any of Robert Plant's early solo albums, due in no small part to the decidedly Bonham-esque slam of Cozy Powell's skins. It also has an exotic, Arabic tinge to it, making it a sort of "Son Of Kashmir", but while that earlier Led Zep number was about traveling down a long stretch of road through Moroccan desert to get to India, "Slow Dancer" feels more like a trip down Egypt's Nile River and seeing the pyramids along the way! (BTW, I just got "Nine Lives," the complete 9-CD box set of Robert Plant's solo work, in addition to the anthology "Sixty Six To Timbuktu." While I personally find much of Plant's solo work to be...how shall I say?...an acquired taste, I certainly find it very interesting and a lot of it's begun to grow on me quite a bit. Personally, I eagerly await the release of his new "Band Of Joy" with baited breath...)

"Merlin The Magician" < "Merlin's Spell" < "Are You Sitting Comfortably?" - If you know the lyrics to the Moody Blues track, you'll understand perfectly well why it's part of this sequence! ;)

"I Could Have Been A Dreamer" - Another tribute of mine to one of heavy metal's fallen: The late, great Ronnie James Dio. R.I.P.

njr (08-30-2010):
Cool to see the Wakeman!

njr (08-31-2010):
Oh! And thanks for posting another ALL NEW Pazuzu playlist!

doowad (08-31-2010):
I dont' find as many favorites here as usual, but it does make me glad I went AWOL on the 90s.

RichardB (08-31-2010):
A bonus track from BOC's Spectres? That I have to hear in what looks to be an impressive list

mollyac (08-31-2010):
I love that Voivod track. Nice mix

Mr. Mirage (09-01-2010):
Including the OST cuts from the film version of Tommy hooked me. Apparently, there was the original release, which I saw, and the version put out on VHS, which I owned. All I could recall is just how terrible the VHS was, and I recalled distinctly enjoying the film... later, when it was put out on disc, I read that there were two versions, and the disc has the version I fell in love with. The OST is my personal favorite of all four versions (so far, or maybe "today" would be more appropriate).
