Darth Pazuzu (11-28-2010):
"Jam Sandwich" / "Big Band, Sax And Violence" - If you've ever seen the movie "Death Wish II," you'll be somewhat familiar with the "Jam Sandwich" riff. Basically, it's the bad guys' theme! We always hear it when they've got their boom box cranking. And "Big Band, Sax And Violence" is a partial reprise of the same theme (albeit with a wailing saxophone instead of a guitar solo)! (In fact, you'll remember that one of the bad guys was played by a young Laurence Fishburne. At one point late in the film, during a shootout with Charles Bronson's character, Fishburne attempts to block the bullet with the boom box - AND FAILS SPECTACULARLY! Smooth move, Laurence. It just goes to show that not even the power of the almighty Page can save you when Charlie's gunning for you!)

"Road To The Sun" - And now, from Jimmy...to Robert! This particular song's a real scorcher, an outtake from "The Principle Of Moments" in '83. It wasn't officially released until the "Sixty Six To Timbuktu" compilation two decades later, although why it didn't make the cut the first time around is a mystery to me!

"A Hazy Shade Of Winter" < "Dust In The Wind" < "Candle In The Wind" - I thought it was really cool how smoothly these three classic tunes flow together...

There's so much here I love. Danzig, Sonic Youth, Allman Brothers... It's great.

doowad (12-02-2010):
One Kansas song was one too many for me, sorry.
