Comment:
This one was a whim, mostly utilizing my friend Dan's Jonathan collection (I only own a few on CD). . This mix stops in 1992, because I have not been interested enough to follow his career since. Update 12/2/01: I finally got my vinyl copy of the venerable "Rockin' and Romance" dubbed to CD and I've updated this mix accordingly (along with a name change for good measure).Feedback:
You have no idea how many people ave been comparing my shows to Jonathan Richman lately. I guess I'm flattered, considering he's sch a cult hero in his own way... but I just wish I'd actually *heard* the guy before.
you should listen to his later stuff
especially
"velvet underground" and
"let her go into darness"
excellent stuff
but your mix is great anyway

"Velvet Underground" is a fine song and is on the same album as "You Can't Talk to the Dude", so that was implicity included in my selection process... it just didn't make the cut, even though I like it. I've heard a few of his later albums, though, and can't say I share your fondness for them. I thank you most sincerely, though, for your compliments.
if you ever make a vol 2, you must ;-) include "Important in your life" and "Goverment center"
Great mix, for a guy who is clearly a dick.
"The Modern Lovers" is my favorite record of all time...tied with the "white album" actually.
I just realized his second album isn't represented here. It's always been a favorite. BTW: I always thought he sang "put down *the* cigarette..."
Depends what verse you're talking about, oh corrections Keymaster.
Yeah, and I proofread for a living as well, so I'm used to cleaning up other people's mistakes. :-)
