it's been pretty fascinating to watch this band amass a devoted following over the past couple of years; people have really taken them to heart, fallen madly and utterly in love with them, and hung on their every note and breath. many seemed disappointed by the last album, "fold your hands, child...", but listening to again as i assembled this mix, i really began to find a new appreciation for it. for me, they don't get much more classic than "lazy line painter jane" (a moment they have yet to top since), but all of these songs pretty much captivate and charm the hell out of me. sadly, some of the other greats didn't fit on here due to space-constraints ("photo jenny", "fox in the snow", "this is just a modern rock song", to name a few), but i'm sure there'll have to be a volume two somewhere down the road soon enough....Feedback:
Hmm. Good mix, my friend, but... heh. Hey, everyone's mix is their own... but MY B & S mix (if I cared enough to make one) would include "Seeing Other People", "Judy and the Dream of Horses", "The Boy Done Wrong Again", the aforementioned "This is Just a Modern Rock Song", "I Fought in a War", "You're Just a Baby", "Dog on Wheels", and "We Rule the School". Hmm... maybe I DO care enough to do my own...
I never see people put Chickfactor on their mixes? I do think I'm the only one who likes that song. Heh. But then again, I'm not a big Belle & Sebastian fan.
i would like a copy of this mix. perhaps we could set up a trade?
but i DID put "seeing other people", rob, really i did! oh, and i do love "chickfactor" (as well as "seymour stein", too), but those pesky TDK hi-bias SA-100's can only fit so many darn tunes on 'em, you know...

...and may I just add in the most arrogant way possible that "Seeing Other People", "Dog on Wheels" & "Lazy Line Painter Jane" are the three BEST B & S songs thus far?!!!
