Comment:

Yet another "hobbit birthday" tape--this time for my friend Andy. The tape is titled because we are trying to cure him of his inexplicable Pearl Jam fetish. I'm sorry, but any band that thinks releasing 75 simultaneous unique live albums needs to be taken out back behind the shed and shot.

Great mix, Brandt. And I agreed with your Pearl Jam assessment long before said live albums were released. :-)

Thanks for the kudos Rob. Those live albums are just one in a series of the many crimes against good taste that Pearl Jam is guilty of. When I told his roommate of my plan for this tape (his roommate is a recipient of my "I'll Draw the Map" tape) his response was "Good. It's about time someone did something about that."

Hey, at least it wasn't the Backstreet Boys who dropped 75 live CDs on us at once. Anyway I like your mix. It includes some of my favorite bands (Pavement,The Wedding Present, Unrest), so I guess I'll have to check out some of the bands I'm unfamiliar with (Wolfie, Churchbuilder and Barcelona).

Yeah , Pearl Jam. Those awful bastards. How dare they be succesful , talented and have a world-wide fan base.
Now if they had a name like 'Penis Milkmen' or 'Constructing Veronica' or 'Dead Bloating Ben' , I would take them seriously. Also , they have to get off the major labels and start playing exclusively in dive bars in San Fransisco. Anyway good luck with belittling your friend and forcing your musical tastes on him.
