Comment:
this mix is for one rob conroy, who i really hope enjoys it. my only goal is that more than half of the songs are new to him. (did it work??) edited bright eyes on request, commander venus for location, and the ted leo title isn't wrong -- it's a lo-fi version of the song that was on a compilation. the title is from "crusades," which remains astronomically high on my mental list of songs that can't be improved upon. oh, now i have to go listen to it again.Feedback:
i have this bike is a pipe bombs 'dance party..' album. i hated it instantly. i read they were "new punk rock, highly recommended." thats false advertising.
they seem more folk-punk to me, and the viola is a nice sort of different touch. i don't know. i think they're a lot of fun, but if you're not expecting them to sound the way they do, it's probably pretty off-putting! i know they're going to be touring later this summer doing just traditional folk songs, which (i think) sounds awesome.
*rubs his hands together in glee* Yes, you succeeded. :-) In fact, the only two songs that I know FOR SURE are "Tereza and Tomas" and the Simon Joyner tune. I MAY have that Wrens song if it's on this old 7" that I've got laying around, but otherwise I don't know it... Thank you, Ms. Sienna. Now I have to get off of my ass and compile YOUR mix... ;-)
