I made this tape for my very good friend Charlotte, who I only recently started hanging out with again, after about 5 years. We went to high school together (she was a year younger) and we sort of went our separate ways after I graduated. I chose most of the songs on this tape for some specific reason. Stuff like Liz Phair, Violent Femmes and the Steeler's Wheel song are reminiscences of high school. The Matthew Sweet, Travis and Fountains of Wayne songs have messages pertaining to her high school sweetheart (and one of my good friends), who she's still sort of hung up on after 5 years. The others have messages I thought were pertinent to our "rekindled friendship" or to her recent release from an abusive relationship.
