Comment:

I realize Bruce Hornsby is not the most fashionable entry on this Website, but the guy's a pretty good songwriter, a decent singer and a wonderful pianist. These tunes all come from his solo albums and those he recorded with the Range. One note: His version of "The End of the Innocence" (he co-wrote it with Don Henley) is far more melancholy than Henley's version. Hornsby's approach seems to be the way the song was supposed to be done; certainly it fits the lyrics better. The songs are so good for driving, I almost put this under Road Trip.

I feel bad that it took until that Tupac sampling of "The Way it Is" for me to realize that, yes, Mr. Hornsby is a great guy. He is one of those artists who was pigeon-holed by radio play, I think (Toad the Wet Sprocket comes to mind) and never got a fair shake from record listeners.

he's a way-underappreciated musician. good job.. i'd have "harbour lights", "china doll" and "hot house ball" on there too....

No shame in making a Hornsby mix. He is a great songwriter and piano player. His music always makes me think of up north, where the skies are bluer and the air just feels better...
