Comment:

I made this for a friend who claimed not to like Rod Stewart. It turned out he only associated him with songs like "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" and "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You". This compilation draws from Rod's two albums with the Jeff Beck Group, all four Faces albums, and his solo albums The Rod Stewart Album (1969), Every Picture Tells a Story (1971), and Smiler (1974).

Wow. This tape is incredible. In his early career, Rod was quite brilliant. You wouldn't want to orchestrate some kind of trade would you?

I think Greil Marcus (or was it Christgau?) said it best in his old essay... "Rarely has a singer had as unique and human a talent as Rod Stewart. Never has anyone betrayed his talent so completely."

Nice. Thanks for doing your part to let the world know that this guy was once cool. I'm revealing my age when I admit to remembering the pre-disco Rod. He sucked so bad after that it was nearly 25 years until I listened to those Faces LPs again.

This is indeed good stuff. Those two albums he did with the Jeff Beck Group are particularly good. Pity about the rest of the career...

Great mix. I remember really digging Rod Stewart years ago before he went disco and arguing with friends who only knew him from the later work. I'd love to do a trade for this one.

I'd be very interested in trading for this. Take a look at my mixes and see if there's anything you'd like.
