Mac and company, spearheading the Chapel Hill revolution... it was a heady time, the early '90s. This mix is definitely not as complete as I would have liked; a lot of my favorites (that I just didn't like quite as much as these) had to be cut. Some examples: "Song for Marion Brown", "Flawless", "I'll Be Your Sister", "The Breadman", "Mower", "The First Part", "Martinis on the Roof", "Sunshine State"... so many more. But this, I think, is a fine selection from the folks that created what is now bizarrely referred to as "emo"... and did it 80 times better than the current crop o' youngsters...
