Lately I've noticed that it's almost impossible for me to discuss music with my friends without them asking "Who's that? I've never heard of them", and "You listen to weird music that no one else listens to!". My musical tastes are so different than my friends, mine ranges from old power pop Nugget rock from the 60's and 70's, to old school punk, to 80's New Wave, early 90's rock, new Brit Rock, and weird ambient techno music. While my friends don't have favorite genres or groups, they have favorite songs, they rely on what MTV, MuchMusic and the Billboard charts to tell them what the good music is, and 90% of the time that music is pure shit! I made this mix to hopefully expose my friends to some of the good music that they're missing out on. This mix ranges from old 60's and 70's bands that never really made it, to some of the best music hardly anyone has heard of that has been released in the past 10 years or so. If you haven't heard of some of these songs please seek them out and give them a listen, you won't be disappointed.

You basically just summed up the musical relationship I have with my brother. For years I begged him to listen to my radio show, but he wouldn't. "You don't play things I've heard before." Quite silly really, because there was a point in time when you didn't hear that horrid limp bizkit song either, but you still listened to that piece of shit...

Great tape, by the way.

I do believe "I Am The Cosmos" is actually just by Chris Bell from Big Star, not the band themselves. Continue being a rock snob.

Being a rock snob sure beats listening to the mindless pap that's out there...rock on!
