Comment:
When I first heard the band I thought they sounded like a Queen record being played backward at the wrong speed; needless to say I was hooked for life... This is about as comprehensive a compilation I could fit on to a single CD... I included at least two songs from every one of their albums and threw in a few non-album rarities for good measure... The song list is chronological (with maybe one exception), tracing the band's origins as a pseudo-D.C. Hardcore act, through their major-label failed-art-rock-crossover period, and finally as a provider of some excellent movie soundtrack music... The biggest complaint I can forsee is that I under-represented the major-label debut album 'Pony Express Record' (and left out what many fans consider to be two of the band's signature songs: "Hit Liquor" and "No Room 9 Kentucky"), mostly out of personal preference, but also because I find the music on either end of the band's carreer timeline more interesting and grossly underrated... The odd man out here is the final track, which is a post-Shudder Craig Wedren song - Let's hope his forthcoming solo album is as good as this.
Feedback:
awesome mix....'x-french tee shirt' never fails to reduce me to a gibbering mess. where'd you find that craig solo track, anyhow?
THIS. KICKS. ASS. shudder to think was one of the single greatest bands to ever grace god's green earth. i think you've represented them quite well.
please. i beg of you. trade with me so i can get my hands on this.
