Comment:

Okay... They only allow you to list up to 30 songs for a CD... THIS ONE HAS 34 SONGS... Here's the rest of the list: 31) Pine Box Derby (3:08) 32) Sleepy Head (4:07) 33) Not a Care In the World (3:42) 34) Sea Hunt (edit) (3:15)... Made this for myself as a tide-me-over until the K-Records box set comes out later this year. My biggest regrets about this mix is that I didn't bookend it with the A-sides to their first & last singles (Our Secret and Angel Gone), and that I under-represented the band's "darker" material (included Hangman and Gravedigger Blues, but not the title tracks from Black Candy and You Turn Me On) but I think this is still a whole lot of top-notch Beat Happening on a single disc... Most of the songs were taken from the albums, except for That Girl (the Crashing Through b-side), Not a Care In the World (from the Sassy magazine 4-song 7-inch), and the immortal Sea Hunt (from the K-Records 45). How can anyone not heart Beat Happening? What can one say about these lo-fi/folk-punk/love-rock pioneers? They're easily one of the most influential indie rock bands of all time, and (here's the kicker) they have the catchiest tunes!

I'm one of those "Beat Happening changed my life" people. You might want to check out the Lucksmiths mix somebody just did; you might dig them, if you don't already. Similiar spirit, me thinks.
