Comment:

Judging by the level of international stardom Miss Bjork Gudmunsdottir has attained, I seem to be in the extreme minority in believing that most of her best songs were the ones she cowrote and sang with the Sugarcubes... The first 'cubes album (Life's Too Good) is just about flawless, which is why the first half of this mix is reserved for that album in its entirity (including two of the Icelandic-sung bonus cuts from the CD version). The next two albums are maybe a notch or two below the debut - still wonderful, just less consistant... There are easily a half-dozen keepers on each, and they're all included here, except for "Hetero Scum" from Stick Around for Joy, which I left off to make room for the one non-album track: a goofy cover of the Carpenters' hit "Top of the World" from the "Walkabout" CD-single, but even still I feel this a more complete best-of than the 'Great Crossover Potential' collection that was released last year.

I mirror yer opinion about Life's Too Good. Great album from start to finish. Ever hear the band prior to the 'Cubes....K.U.K.L.?

Nice job. Do you have any material off the remix CD *It's It*? There's a great mix of "Hit" on it. You do have to hear KUKL. Strange stuff, but fun. That material completes the picture of the sonic evolution of the Sugarcubes. Two of the their albums are still available.
