Comment:

I made this tape for an upcoming vacation to Washington D.C. And it is trade payback for a few of out in mixland. What do we have here? Some new Stereolab, my favorite band of the last year. Three songs including one where they marry horns with a cowboy twangy sound. Huh? It works, somehow. Also have some new Beta Band who I can't wait to see (if they show up) with Radiohead in Northern Virginia. The Beta Band skipped the Radiohead show in Houston. Those crazy Scots. A couple of Texas artists round it out Shea Seger and Fred Savage Fanclub--which sounds like Liz Phair's sister. Oh, I can't forget my favorite band of the last year, Magnetic Fields. Oh, make that second favorite.

Thanks. I saw Sarah Harmer in a small club here in Dallas. She has the most amazing voice. I met her after the show and she is not a rock star type, very laid-back and nice.

I've been going through old tapes I've traded for. I'm listening to this one today. I just felt the need to make a comment on how much I'm enjoying it. Great mix!
