This is a little tape I made in honor of Black History Month. I was the only girl on the block with albums by these bands growing up. Side One is a single artist mix with Living Colour. The first album I ever bought myself was LC's Vivid. It's still one of the best albums I own. Side Two has various artists. Basically, it's all rock as opposed to R&B or Hip Hop (though I love both). This is music you won't hear on any R&B or Hip Hop station. BTW, though they aren't on the mix, I'd like to acknowledge pioneers like Chuck Berry & Little Richard for paving the way for a lot of this music to exist. Aswad means "black" in Arabic. I just needed a title and I study Arabic, so there you go.
