Comment:

This is similar to my 1984 mix, in that some songs have something to do with the plot and some just seem to fit. They also go in order according to the plot, as well. The theme of growing up and feeling alienated and sad is heavy here, as well as that of change and starting over. Just in case you were wondering, I've got others in the works as well :)

isn't the badly drawn boy song actually called "pissing in the wind?"

This is a great idea for an even greater book. And yeah, bethanee is right about the title of the BDB song...

yeah, it is called "pissing in the wind", but BDB re-recorded it, added some studio wizardry and re-released it as a single.

I made a mix like this and posted it. Except I used only Greenday songs.

I saw that mix, and I was quite impressed, actually.

hey, this is great. there's a counting crow's song called "chelsea" that has always reminded me of holden, so i've thought of doing this before, and i've done it with other books -- this one is very well-executed and inspiring. great job.

i gotta give it to you, you executed this one well, its hard to make a mix to such a great book liek catcher without pissing people off because they feel the songs dont fit the character but this mix is pretty damn good in that they fit holden
