Comment:
An attempt to give someone a comprehensive introduction to the Velvets...on a single CD. That meant all the famous songs, plus enough really good stuff from their various styles and phases to get a sense of the band. I stuck to the four official-release albums because some of the demos, outtakes, and live cuts may be classic, but they're not the first thing people remember when they think of this great band. I wanted Sister Ray on there, no matter what it took, because it's the best non-live song(IGNORE classical) of its length ever recorded, and you don't quite get the full depth of their kinky, noisy, savage splendour without it.Feedback:
Amen, I say.
