Comment:
A much-procrastinated-upon mix for one Kathleen Gallagher, formerly of Halifax, now of Dublin. I miss seeing her mixes here, to be honest. At any rate, after two tries, this is the finished product (Mach 1 had all of the same songs, but also had an order that did not sit well with me upon listening). She asked for '60s Nuggets-style stuff, some old soul and Will Oldham... she got two out of three. I think (and hope) that she will enjoy the rest. The title is from the Phil Ochs tune.Feedback:
Rob, you certainly don't fuck around. This tape is an amazing mix (I mean Oldham and the Ohio Express on the same tape?) I would make some lo-fi jr. type comment here, but I'm not nearly that poetic. Here's to hoping I can get a mix out of your before I go to California.
It only happens maybe twice a year now, but hearing that Chambers Strings song for the first time reminded me of everything I've ever loved about pop music.
very nice. there must be at least 6 genres here, which is quite commendable.
He misses my mixes, eh? Well I miss making them. Ha! Yes, I can attest this mix is absolutely delightful and is the perfect thing to listen to when you're on an hour's bus ride to or from work. "Yummy Yummy Yummy" alone makes the drugery of the daily commute all worth while. Thank you, Mr. Conroy.
Start it up and watch it go. I love this mix.
Rob ... this one, too, rocks like a magicist. I love what I've heard of Songs: Ohia. Very smooth ... like black silk.
A true coward only replies to a comment on his mix by commenting on that mix so that the reply will most likely not be seen. If you weren't a coward you would email me your reply.
You then are a true coward.
And do you even know what a rentboy is? Although I can't possibly imagine even a desperate gay man paying to have sex with you.
And don't you ever reply to your emails? I sent you a couple this weekend.

Jesus, I've met GG Allin groupies with better social skills. Hey Geoff, they've test marketed your particular brand of "humour" & found it appeals most to guys your age who are you. BTW Rob, i have that Faust CD if you're interested.
