Comment:

The first of a two tape series documenting the career of the Smashing Pumpkins. The songs are arranged by side, the first being the band's grandiose, fully orchestrated numbers, and the second being the quieter, more subdued moments. Although "Siva" wouldn't likely be categorized as hushed, it does have that sweet little bridge. The preliminary title is a reference to a filmstrip about DNA from The Simpsons. I felt kind of bad referencing Corgan alone, when James, D'arcy, and Jimmy have constantly been overlooked, but each one of them gets to sing on this tape, and not only on "Farewell". The Pumpkins couldn't have kicked half as much ass as they did in the past 13 years, let alone open my ears to broader horizons, if Billy did everything himself. For that, I am grateful to all four of them.
