Comment:
74 minutes of a band that I will always love a bit but who once meant a lot more to me. As evidenced by my selections, I'm definitely more of an Andy Partridge man than a Colin Moulding man (but then again few hardcore XTC fans aren't) and I have a weakness for most of the singles and poppier album tracks. Thanks to my friend Dan for letting me utilize his XTC CD collection on this one (I have the titles on vinyl, which is just a pain in the ass to transfer...) Songs cut at the last moment because of space: "Dying", "Jason and the Argonauts", "Rook", "Making Plans for Nigel", "Burning with Optimism's Flame", "Towers of London", "Funk Pop a Roll", "No Language in Our Lungs"... so many more.Feedback:
a great starter song... depending on what day it is... "Life Begins at the Hop" is my fave XTC song. you should check out the Sugarplastic... from L.A.... it's worth tracking their stuff down if you like XTC
"Hop" is also MY favorite XTC song, spoon. :-)
Very nice. I just adore the angry popsters
Wow, why did I never see this before? Another of my favorite bands of all time...my fave album, "Black Sea," is woefully under-represented here!
