I saw this band open up for the Magnetic Fields in NYC and quickly became a fan... Their second album 'Plano' is a wonder... Immaculate pop songs steeped in 70's lounge and 80's new wave... Simply brilliant (which is why the entire album is represented here)... The rest of the mix culls the most listener-friendly (admittedly the least experimental) tracks from the rest of their catalogue (including an amusing soft-rock take on Guns-N-Roses "Sweet Child O' Mine"), plus "Love Action" from a recent Human League tribute album.
