Comment:

Songs I adore, supposedly. The title comes from my mis-remembering a line from a Simpsons episode where Homer can't take the kids to duff gardens because he's been eating this horrifying giant hoagie that has taken so long to eaten it has gone bad. The line actually is "I could never stay mad at you" while he hugs the sandwich after he's fished it out of the trash. I couldn't make this tape now.

? What's bad about these songs? Let me point out the classics... "Tiny Dancer", "No Matter What" (one of my ten favorite singles of all-time), "Alcoholiday", "I Want You" and "'Cross the Breeze". Let's take a gander at the near-classics... "Lodi", "Look Through Any Window" and "How Deep is Your Love?" Then let's look at the plain old good songs... "Yes, She is My Skinhead Girl", "Manta Ray", "Untidy Town" and "A Century of Fakers". Although I wouldn't be caught dead listening to the Afghan Whigs and have no opinion on the other bands, I'd have to say that this tape qualifies as at least "good". :-)

I never said it was bad, just that I couldn't make it now. If I tried to make "i could never hate you sandwich ii" it would be radically different.
Mind you Rob, I think that my "rut" tapes are about a million times better than 95% of the stuff that gets posted here...

Brandt, first off lemme say...you make kick ass mixes. I don't think I commented much on them but everytime I see one posted I think "Yes, quality!". Ok, lemme remove my nose from your ass. I see your point on finding old mixes and thinking "how the fuck did I do that, could i do it again? nah" cause now you've got like a system or a way to do it when before it was just raw, ya know? Still developing ass a mixer, I guess. I'm in the process of making a mix with a Simpsons theme too but it'll take awhile. Anyways, great stuff.

that's stunning. simpson's ref. makes it all the better.
