Comment:

Maybe not a 'Sleep' CD in the strictest sense, but definitely a mellow mix... Okay: The Softies track is from a K Records 7-inch... Everything But the Girl's 1982 cover of "Night and Day" is one of their earliest releases... The REM original version of "Why Not Smile" is on their Daysleeper CD maxi-single... The Madder Rose track is from the 'Car Song' 4-song promo... The Flare track is a haunting and lovely (Belgian early 80's new-wavers) Kid Montana cover from their 6-song EP 'Circa'... Violet Indiana (for those who don't know) is the new collaboration between former Cocteau Twin Robin Guthrie and former Mono vocalist Siobhan de Mare... Couch is a Berlin-based instrumental alternative band (currently signed to Matador)... The Aluminum Group song "Chocolates" is the quieter, more laid back version that appears on their debut LP 'Wonder Boy'... The Low track is a non-LP Soul Coughing(!) cover that appeared on the Various Artists 1998 No Alternative compilation 'Teleconned Volume 1: We Want the Airwaves'... The cover photgraph was taken in Vermont by Steve Daniels.

Nice. A few great songs (and some weird ones). Gotta love Ivy and EBTG. Is that R.E.M. song on the American version of the single or British-only?
