i honestly mean no offense to the maker of this mix, cause i can see it's a good mix for that genre, but i am personally saddened that kids call this metal.

UUmm lessee... Judas Priest & White Zombie covers the metal catagory,new found Glory & GTA is considered punk metal.New metal is covered with LP,East/West & Stereomud. Industrial metal is there with PMM,Ministry & Skold. I hit many of the varied metal styles here with the exeptions of death,doom,gothic & black metal & most of which I cannot stand. What are you refering to as metal then? Also im 29 years old and i hate bieng refered to as a kid because not just kids like the heavier side of music. What are you considering metal i honestly want to know? All the bands I have listed IMHO are metal in some way and i personally hate labeling genres but in this instance i have to.I honestly dont care whether people like the mix or not-me and my wife had a blast playing it in the car today... Why are you closing your mind off to different forms of metal? Why keep just one stereotypical style in mind when using that term? It is an amazing thing that music is breaking through genre labels. You cannot just picture one style of music when you say metal. It is a florious thing indeed! Music is shaping itself to branch out and grow, exploring different styles and sounds. People feel they must label so that make the genres more specific. Industrial metal, dark metal, death metal, rap metal. These are just a few branches of the metal tree. A lot of the genres are starting to branch out. You see out now old school rap, gangsta rap, metal rap, "white boy" rap, and others. Even country, an old institution, has bluegrass, country rock, country western, and much more. I would hate to see a world where we have just one type of metal, one type of rap, one type of jazz, one type of pop, one type of any music! We are finally growing and learning that music is not limited to boundaries and names! I am glad my husband is open minded enough to see and respect each branch of metal for what they are-an exploration of new boundaries of music. And you f.scottbaio, could do well to follow suit and expand your musical mind.

first off, i was simply bringing up a topic of conversation, which is why i say no offense to the maker of this mix. second off: it's not that i'm closing my mind to anything. can't you still have an open mind and simply not like or respect certain things? i understand that this music may well be the 'future of metal' or what have you, i was simply being cliche in saying that i wish helmet or enemymine was bigger than papa roach. but alas, i might be outnumbered. and i never called you kid. i said it's sad that kids call this metal. that's my opinion, so shoot me. i'm sorry, i'm not into rap-metal. and i can respect when music breaks down boundaries, but that doesn't mean i have to automatically like it. do you like shania twain? i'm sure you've talked shit about her. she 'breaks down musical boundaries..' do we have to like her for it? i'm glad you like your mix, and i'm sure thousands of other people would, too. but don't get all crazy on me for expressing an opinion that isn't in the majority. i'm sure you don't like the bands i do.

First off im sick of the shit,i just erased a huge posting here because im gonna just sum it up short and sweet - what you consider metal i consider punk , what i think is metal is now rap metal and not blah blah F*%#@!ing blah! Ok this has been my most insane controversial mix I have ever made , IMHO now that three years have passed since I made this mix I can look at it in retrospect and say -some- of the bands at the time were not metal (falling into punk , neo-goth and psuedo industrial) -BUT- these were heavy songs that are on this cd and I still feel I didnt make a bad disc! Also saying JP is the only metal here?? WTF!? Bands like Drain , JP , FF , Zombie and East/West are all metal , and after 3 years I still have the same opinions on this mix as i do all my others... If you didnt like it - I dont care! I made this to listen to for myself and no one else! If you DONT like the cd or any of my other ones -FUCK YOU!-
