Comment:
an adventure in sound. in which our protagonists, mr. and mrs. bofus, pour the vodka, light the cigarettes and let the mix make itself...Feedback:
As always, Mr. and Mrs. Bofus, a lesson in variety and taste.
lovely.
If only it were that easy to make something as sweet as this.
I know for a fact that bofus can only name 2 nsync songs, that makes him more then a hero to me.
Very nice. I expected the Hank Williams song "My Bucket's Got a Hole In It" from the title of this mix. How well would that pair up with the Eddie Bo track?
I know that I couldn't name a single NSYNC song, xxavier.
Bofus, a wealth of impressive sound adventures. Every mix has me scrambling with curiousity and an increased desire to lock myself in my room of records. As usual. the mixes are amazing.
Good pick Rob. I don't know how I missed this one the first time 'round, especially since it's named after a particular fave song of mine. Bofus, beautiful job! I'm guessing by some of the selections that you've probably got those two New Orleans Funk compilation on Soul Jazz. Aren't they wonderful!!
I'm glad you like it, Randy, as your "Jesus Just Left Sin City" mix was first runner-up for the title this week. :-)
Wow! Thanks for the comments, Rob! And yeah, Randy, those Soul Jazz comps. are amazing. I only wish that the local shop carried more of them. We really need to get back into the swing of making mixes. Been too long.
Runner-up! Damn, I just got a call today saying I was runner up in a contest at the local record store (and when I play monopoly I always seem to draw the "runner-up in a beauty contest" card from community chest). Seems to be my lot in life... Oh well, coming second to this mix is still quite an honor.
Sorry, Randy. :-( Had I known that, I'd have given your mix the nod (no offense at all on that one, bofus)...
wow...this is pretty...how do they say it? great? that eddie bo song...cracks me up every time.
I give you five thumbs up to great musical taste! Reminds my of very random moments in my life...very cool ;)
Damn! I'm speechless...
Congratulations on your mix of the month!
word to the wise: charles mingus produced an astonishing son named eric. he has a gravely bluesy voice that will make your jaw drop.
i,m
Essence of gutbucket, let me know if you are ever up for a mix.
