Comment:
For the great (and greatly esteemed) SueEW. Actually, the contents of this mix are more or less the reverse of the title. Sue requested the White Stripes, the Chamber Strings, Built to Spill, the Black Heart Procession, Bright Eyes and Teenage Fanclub. She got four out of six and I'll be sending her my comps of the other two bands as I couldn't be bothered to include them on the mix (I think I just wasn't in the mood, when it came down to it). Due to the absolutely chaotic hell that was going on in our lovely country today, I wound up home from work at 3 and this is the result. It's not the most original mix I've ever done, but I think she'll like it and I'm happy with it. The title is from the Leonard Cohen song that Rufus is crooning at the close of this disc.Feedback:
Thumbs up for the song from HEAD and the neat LET IT BE session outtake.
The baffled king composing hallelujah...Rob, this is wonderful! I cannot wait to get this! As I sit here today at work (we're 12 hrs ahead of you on the east coast), absolutely stunned at the days events, totally exhausted as we stayed up very, very late last night watching the news - I think, at least there's music!
Wow, I would love to hear Rufus do that song, I love Jeff Buckley's cover of it. I didn't even know Rufus had recorded it!
Wow. I don't think I can live without this one either.
Now that I've listened to it, I can say with authority-- this is an amazing mix all around. I was especially moved by the closing track--I still get chills when I hear it!
Damn! This is a great mix....you've got so much stuff, I can't believe how many of these I've missed...
Beautiful mix- excellent Ramones choice, and a great ending.
