Comment:

The dry-as-ginger-ale wit and quirky "woo, woo" hook of "Cut Your Hair" brought Pavement so close (a [i]Billboard[/i] Top 200 debut, some MTV support) yet so far from midstream stardom. Apparently, walls of white noise and songs that shift moods and motifs like Ferrari gears aren't for everyone. They are, however, quite popular with Pavement's posthumous cult following, from the noise pop of "Summer Babe" to the jingle/jangle of "Shady Lane/J Vs. S."
