Comment:
For more than 30 years, you just couldn't count ol' J.T. out. No matter what the times, no matter what the style, he could step up and deliver an anthem for the ages. He gave Stax one of its biggest soul smashes with "Who's Making Love," delivered the first-ever certified-platinum single with "Disco Lady," and then virtually defined the Southern Soul-Blues scene with a string of songs, ("Just Because," "Last Two Dollars," etc.) that lasted until his passing in 2000.
