Comment:
These fellas are sort of the dark horses of the Britpop scene, although in a sense they jump-started it in 1992 with the release of their first single, "The Drowners". Bernard Butler is an absolutely brilliant guitarist and songwriter; Brett Anderson's got some talent, as well. Together, they made a great team. Separately... well, they're both doing okay (I'd take Bernard's solo work over the current Suede). "My Insatiable One" and "The Living Dead" are two of my favorite songs of the past ten years. Songs that had to be cut at the last moment: "She's Not Dead", "Stay Together", "Pantomime Horse", "Breakdown", "Picnic by the Motorway" and "Metal Mickey".Feedback:
my college roommate forced the London Suede upon me. . . and i started to enjoy them after a point, even though i'd never admit it to him. "Stay Together" and "The Chemistry Between Us" were my two favs. . .
Suede - can take 'em or leave 'em, but do like "My Insatiable One." By the way, Rob, where do you find the time to make all these mixes? Don't lawyers work long hours? It usually takes me hours to think about what I'll put on a mix, then the time to actually make it...by the time I'm done, it's usually the next day!
"Down" is my favourite Suede song next to "By the Sea"
what about beautiful ones? that's my favorite suede song! ...and she's in fashion is missing too :o)
All hail Suede, though Bernard Butler made the magic happen, didn't he? I'm disappointed in his solo efforts, but c'est la vie. "The Living Dead" -- you brilliant man, you. My fave Suede song ever, along with "My Insatiable One" and "The Power." (You've got mail, Conroy.)
I've been a Suede fan ever since I first saw them support the Fall in Glasgow 92, and on numerous occassions since. Yes Suede had something special with Bernard, but new Suede is equally as good, in my opinion. I love Suede for being Suede.
Best song? Still Life.
Best song? Still Life.
Strange mix...becomes rather mired in the sludge of Suede's more meandering b-sides.
