Congratulations on your decision to confine this mix to the period in which Metallica made only quality music... I must admit that I can't recall from which era "No Leaf Clover" and "Hero of the Day" hail, but the rest stop (wisely) in 1988.
Rob: "No Leaf Clover" is from S&M, "Hero of the Day" is from "Load". And, for that matter, "Sad But True" also postdates '88. (Me, pedantic?) Still, those are some of the better things they did after "...Justice", and everything else here is good.
Good job. I like it.
I don't get this whole thing with a band being better before. Yeah, some of them do start to turn out shyte, but what's the problem with changing with the times? Doesn't that say something in itself?
Oh yeah, I guess I'm obliged to say that I really don't know much about early Metallica- my knowledge of them begins with the 'black' album, so I'm most likely talking out of my ass. Apologies to any long-time fans that I may have offended.
A good mix- I could use this in my collection.
