Comment:

Another fine SST band who crystalized my musical taste wonderfully in the '80s. I only included their releases through "Monsters" here, as I'm not overly fond of anything since then; unfortunately, neither "In a Car" nor "Out My Way" wound up being represented in the final volume, despite my emotional attachment to both. As if it's not obvious, I (like most Puppets fans) have a strong bias in favor of both the "Up on the Sun" and "Meat Puppets II" albums.

Killer! Lets go back to the desert for lost treasures. I love old Meat Puppets. Touchdown King just plain rawks ass. I play it every Sat. before I become part of the furniture.

You *knew* I had to comment on this one. Excellent pre-"Forbidden Places" mix you've made here. The only thing I might have changed would have been to attempt to somehow squeeze in "Get On Down", but... besides that, I agree with all of your choices. This looks like it'd be a fun mix to have a disc of... how can a brother get hooked up with one?

late comment: I'm a big fan of the same era as you are, though I could never figure out why they used the electronic drums on MIRAGE. One time I made a 3-way mix tape of R.E.M., Husker Du and the Meat Puppets (alternating bands). Wish I could find that tape, it was great.
