Comment:

We are going to Memphis on Nov. 9 for a weekend of festivities including Ardent Studios, Sun Studios, Graceland, Chris Bell's grave, Jeff Buckley's memorial, and a few record stores/resteraunts/bars. We are topping the trip off with a show by the most wonderful Pernice Brothers that Saturday night. We will be driving from Columbia, SC so a little road music was necessary. Love and Mercy!

This looks like a great disc, Papa. I'm proud to say that I'm lending my amp to Alex Chilton for his show here in Pittsburgh tomorrow night. :-)

Rob's a namedropper!! ;) Anyway, great mix. If you haven't been to Memphis (unlike lyle lovett...it's a song from Joshua Judges Ruth...) make sure you make time to go to the Rendezvous for barbecue! Awesome food. And know that my late grandfather, J. C. O'Daniel, laid the brick in most of that city and the houses you see there, as well as the Beale Street renovation. And also, thanks for not including that crap song by Marc Cohn "Walking in Memphis" That song is the worst.

"Namedropper"? lol I don't know Alex at all, I'm just lending him my amp. I'm not even looking forward to his show, really, but I'm going because of that. heh It's all I can do, though, to repay the guy for writing "September Gurls", "Thirteen" and "I'm in Love with a Girl", among others...
