The year 1994 was not at a loss for new faces — the dreadlocked dude singing “sha-la-la” on Counting Crows’ “Mr. Jones” would soon lead the band to a long stretch in the spotlight, and Sheryl Crow’s fun-loving “All I Wanna Do” was a stepping stone to superstar status. Sure, we might not have heard any more from Big Mountain, who had their moment in the sun by skanking up Peter Frampton’s “Baby, I Love Your Way,” but with everybody from R. Kelly to Heavy D delivering heavy-duty hits, who had time to keep track?
