Another case of an overnight success that had been more than a decade in the making: the Dells wandered around from label to label following their first chart hit in 1956 before hooking up with Cadet Records' producer/arranger team of Bobby Miller & Charles Stepney, who shepherded them to success in 1968 with "Stay in My Corner," as well as a remake of their first hit, "Oh, What a Night."
