Comment:

my very incomplete tribute to C86, compiled in the very ripped off style of CASETTA's Rock Snob encyclopaedia. side a features the C86 bands themselves with many glaring exceptions (yes, i know what is missing--i was 11 years old when C86 was released--give me a break!) side b is the next generation and beyond--bands who were definitely influenced by the C86 sound. here's to hoping more of the old creation and sarah stuff gets re-released.

nice mix. i was always a sucker for that noisy slumberland stuff (black tambourine, henry's dress, velocity girl, boyracer. tho, aside from the 14 iced bears, i wouldn't classify side A as the original C86 crop...more accurate would be a wave before, more like the flatmates, big flame, bodines, razorcuts, josef k and the ilk. all highly recommended. in fact, i think primal scream's "velocity girl" was on that cassette original C86 cassette, which is obviously the birthplace of the name of the band.

Very pretty. I'm with you in hoping more of the old Creation and Sarah stuff gets another release.
