Comment:

The Beach Boys were the quintessential surf band (at the beginning, anyway), but they were by no means the only one. As street rods, surfboards, and the culture they created swept across America in the early ’60s, a twangin' guitar and whammy bar, with a [i]ba-bop . . . bop!, ba-bop . . . bop![/i] beat grew to be surf music’s universal bat-signal. Lyrics optional (only about a quarter of these tunes even bother), it’s all about the vibe. No hodads or gremmies allowed.
