As far as we can remember, Conan O'Brien's popular "In the Year 2000" segment never predicted any of the following: the beats and rhymes dominance of a Detroit rapper with a candy-conjuring name (Eminem), our collective obsession with the Lolita-pop of Britney Spears, and a Tool side project with actual pop structuring, A Perfect Circle, among other surprises.
