Comment:

when i make a mix tape for somebody, i usually hang onto it for a few days and listen to it over and over, til every song makes sense in succession, til the sequence is ingrained into my brain. often, then, when i hear these songs on their own, sometimes years later, i'm brought back to that exact moment in time.
thinking about this tape brings me back to sitting on the cold hardwood floor of my new apartment in milwaukee, it's fall of 1998, and my roommate's cd collection donated a few tracks to this tape. i think it was a trade.
