Comment:
This mix started off being compiled for myself, as many do, but will most likely be used in a trade with the esteemed Papa Maceo/Rev. Mavis C. Calhoun. I think it hangs together pretty well, although it doesn't have my most revolutionary song choices on it. Oh, thanks to bofus for the Albert Ayler track (I've been LOOKING for that CD, damnit) and to lo-fi for three--count 'em, three--tracks: Alternative TV, the Mekons and Richard Hell (the last two of which I've also been seeking for years). Title, bizarrely enough, from the Sinead O'Connor song.Feedback:
great mix rob. love the TVP to Ray Charles transistion...
Yer welcome Rob. Mark my fave transition as Big Black to The Honeycombs.
mmm, very nice. the honeycombs kick... ahhh, i love those silly pop bands of the sixties.
Cool mix, Rob.
Looks great! You even included Patti Smith and if I am not mistaken you are not exactly her biggest fan. See kiddies...Rob doesn't allow himself to be a slave to his likes and dislikes.
Thanks, folks. :-) And you're right, Casetta, I'm not much of a Patti fan generally, but I like that song a lot. And hey, I like Three Dog Night (ick) even less...
Wow, very cool mix here Rob! Glad you're digging the Ayler stuff. Are you still searching for Spiritual Unity? At any rate, this is amazing stuff.
great mix. the Ayler track is a great way to start.
Yeah man this will rawk ass. Sorry I do not usually check this site on the weekend. Papa Luvz Ya!!
