Comment:

The inspiration for this mix comes from an idea I've had for a radio show, whereby I highlight the sort of alternative 70s music that basically doesn't get much in the way of airplay (at least not here on Australian airwaves). Got the idea after hearing "Ghost Rider" played on radio one night, and I thought, damn this sort of music just doesn't get the airing it should do. The idea is to basically play up things that even the alternative radio shows here don't play much, stuff that may have been well-regarded in its time but has since been forgotten, or stuff by well-known acts that is less well-known (e.g. if I was going to play David Bowie, I'd pick something off "Low" or "The Man Who Sold The World")... that sort of thing. Anyway, this mix hopefully gives a bit of an idea of what I mean. (And how else was I going to get "Cha Cha 2000" onto a mix CD?)

Wow, must say I like this mix. Of course I am a sucker for stuff that may have been well-regarded in its time but has since been forgotten. Keep it coming.

Great stuff. I don't think I could imagine Triple J ever playing any of this stuff.

Right on! Are you old enough to remember free-form FM radio?
