George Strait is one of those country artists that strikes me as too perfect, too polished. I'd rather listen to someone who doesn't always get the phrasing exactly right. That probably says something about me rather than about George Strait. Over the past 20 years, Strait has put out an impressive body of work, and there's no denying that when he has a good honkytonk song Strait is one of best. Unfortunately, he doesn't always work with good material. I put this mix together from the 4 volume "Strait Out of the Box" and the more recent "Latest Greatest Straitest Hits" to get a single volume of first class George Strait.
