Comment:

this is digital (10000). my intention is to give this tap to beth arzy of aberdeen/trembling blue stars when they are in town on friday night. she's the one who convinced me to start listening to belle and sebastian (long story) so i figured i'd repay the favor, even though she probably knows everything on this mix. the way i see it, TBS has to travel across america's "heartland" to get from the east coast part of their tour to the west coast part and maybe a tape will be appreciated. [ a quick aside: will someone explain to me why the go-betweens remained in obscurity while bands like INXS got famous? i wonder if that pisses australians off as much as us thinking fosters is real australian beer!]ps. the pop goddess in question is in the picture below...guess who the dopey looking kid she's with is...

I don't suppose that Them song would be the Beach Boys song of the same title?

Anyone who gets their bowels in an uproar over which beer is "real" and which beer is a big media poser (boo-hoo) would probably be listening to INXS anyway.

this is lovely. i feel a lovely warm feeling for anyone who mixes old and new (magnetic fields to patsy cline is brillant) seamlessly. i'd really like to trade with you sometime.

Just lovely. I heard the TBS had incredible troubles getting visas to come on this tour - it's good to see they sorted that out. And yes, Fosters beer isn't really beer to Aussies - I actually asked that today to my co-workers, at a Melbourne Cup party (biggest horse race in Aus.) - what is up with Fosters? The response I got was, "aussies don't drink Fosters, period."

I imagine it's the same reason Trembling Blue Stars remains in obscurity, and bands like Limp Bizket get big. Because there is no justice.

i think it is funny that you put churchbuilder on both the tapes for the TBS members, cause they are playing with churchbuilder at there show in cleveland. by the way if you are a churchbuilder fan i have a very rad chuchbuilder related cd i could trade you for a tape. it is a top secret cd though.

i always wondered that, the go betweens vs INXS..i meanm, vlarg INXS weren't than great. hmm, this could lead to a ACDC story...another time perhaps. on the beer thing, i think i can safely agree with sue's comments. and foster's is crappy. as far as i can see VB and XXXX are the prefered beer-y beverages. i think foster's may have been popular at some stage, a lot of people my grandparent's age favour it. it's a bit of an RSL drink. oh yeah, nice mix brandt
