Comment:
This is officially the first mix I've ever made. I never listened to tapes much, and I just recently got a computer with a burner. Anyhoo, this was a long overdue mix for a great friend from back home that made a mix for me months ago. The basic point was to just introduce him to the music I liked at the time, but of course keeping in mind his taste in music as well. He's really into indie and folk rock and some goth, but i was pretty sure he hadn't heard most of these songs.Feedback:
Good stuff.
My favorite line of any song is in Lost in a supermarket-"Long distant callers make long distance calls". I don't know why I like this line so much.
I'll tell ya what, Rob, you made some damned fine choices here... the Pernice Brothers, Tom Waits, NMH, Zep, Clash, Lips and Don Cab (former local indie heroes here prior to relocating to Chicago), in particular...
this is my kind of mix, for sure. nicely done.
Thanks alot everybody. If you havent heard of AwRY, they're awesome. The best way i can describe their sound is a mix of Bjork and Jeff Buckley. Seriously check them out.. alot of their songs are on mp3.com
I'm jonesing for one of your mixes. Would you be interested in a trade? I didn't think *anyone* else had heard of AwRY...who happens to be coming to a venue near me in just a couple of weeks. Yay!
