Comment:

The title is from a big Ska-fest that happened years ago, that my then-girlfriend proudly went to. I guess you can say that I had two reasons to make this mix. One- my then-girlfriend made fun of most of the bands on this mix. To her, anything post-1980's Ska was 'Grunge Ska,' because most of them ended up fusing it with different kinds of music. I guess she was one of those Two-Tone purists, whereas I begged to differ. I have listened to The Specials, Bad Manners and all kinds of that certain era. They're great and all,but they don't move me as much as Me Mom And Morgentaler, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, or The Planet Smashers. I made this mix to help me figure out if my opinions regarding are lame or not. Reason # Two- I just saw The Planet Smashers this weekend, and I had such a great time skanking around, that I had to make a Ska mix. Trying to kill two birds with one stone.

my little brother turned me on to the ska a couple eyars back! he's still at it with his band, and i hope they conquer the world. as little i know about the history of ska, i can see that you have a great mix of famous & not, trad & third-wave, etc. way to mix it up & not be a purist. easy skankin', now.
