Comment:
Another mix for the estimable lo-fi jr (if the weather permits, I'll finally send this and that Killing Joke mix to him tomorrow). This represents a fairly happy boiling down of the first three albums by Wire, along with a couple of Peel session tracks ("Culture Vultures" and "Crazy About Love"), a scabrous-sounding live recording from the Roxy in 1977 ("Mary Is A Dyke"), and the band's last single ("Our Swimmer") before going on hiatus for the next six years.Feedback:
This is *great*, James. I've thought about doing this mix before, myself, but hadn't gotten around to it. Suffice it to say that our selections are similar enough that it's not necessary for me to follow up on that idea...
Very cool, James. Yup, I hear you've been getting pretty freaky weather Sydney-way lately - what's going on there?
Sue: yes, the weather is pretty foul at the moment, bits of the Sydney metro have been declared a natural disaster area. Oh well, lo-fi's waited long enough for me to make this bloody thing for him, I'm sure he'll forgive me waiting another day or two for it to clear :) And Rob, shall I add this one to our trade pile?
Nah, that's alright... nothing against the mix at all, but I've got all the stuff. I promise to e-mail soon after I get the chance to thoroughly review all of your old stuff, though. :-)
