Comment:
so i'm back home for thanksgiving and, as usual, have raided my library's rather impressively varied music collection. (someday, i'm going to track down the acquisitions librarian responsible for all this and give them a hug.) rob, who's heard me praise my library before, suggested that i try and make a mix from the cds i borrowed. now, it's hard to mix from cds i don't really know, so i went the theme route, and by the time i finished, i really liked the theme (search for the means to live and thrive in the postmodern western world), but wasn't sure about the mix. when i get back to school (and my cds), this is going to be pretty thoroughly augmented and somewhat revised. in the meantime, it'll do. (notes and clarifications: tracks 1, 7, and 9 are the only ones not from library cds; the cat stevens track comes from the rushmore soundtrack. other notable contributions the santa clara county library system has made to my repetoire: the dirty three, calexico, aphex twin, sunny day real estate, mark eitzel, yo la tengo, neutral milk hotel, tom waits, sparklehorse, rasputina, mogwai ... you get the picture. smile at a librarian this week, kids. they really do make a difference.)Feedback:
weird, i was just considering throwing nyc ghosts and flowers on a tape i'm working on for someone...*blinks*
